Dennis Hanft..
Financial Officer / Board Member ,,....

Dennis Hanft was born in October 1948 in Hope, New Jersey. From his youth, he was taught the value of hard work, determination, and his reputation. His upbringing has shaped him into a highly detail-oriented person with a deep love and appreciation for people.

Dennis graduated from Trenton State College in 1971 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. He taught in the Hamilton Township School District at the high school level as a Physical Educator, and later as a Driver Education Instructor, for 33 years. He retired from public education in 2004.

In March of 1979, he started his own trophy business, Trophies Unlimited, in order to provide his community with quality awards and sports attire. He is the sole proprietor of this business, which he presently runs full-time.

Dennis was married in August 1974. Together with his wife, Sue, he raised three daughters, all of which are grown and starting families of their own. When his girls were still young, the family would take summer vacations all over the United States. This early love of travel and adventure opened his mind and his heart to visiting Haiti.

Dennis’s first trip to Haiti was in June 2000. Although this was only a short visit, he quickly fell in love with the Haitian people. Since then, he has returned to Haiti 20 times, each time developing stronger relationships with, and love for, the people. Dennis is currently relatively fluent in Creole, which helps him to better communicate and connect with the Haitian people. His present desire is to help facilitate a medical-assistance ministry in Haiti.
